Pentacle Armor, Hand Tattoo by Gizmodian Pentacle Armor, Hand Tattoo by Gizmodian
This was a temporary tattoo, done on my left hand. (I'm right handed) Using a just a regular Pilot(tm) ball gel pen (because pilot(tm)'s ink, has a tendency not to transfer to anything after in dries.)

And since the mini-disc in my digital camera is full, I stuck my hand in the scanner... Still turned out pretty good though.

This is really cool! I do stuff like this. Is there any truth to the whole "ink poisoning" thing? My parents go on about it, but nothing has happened. Have you experienced anything?

Not that I ever noticed, and I've been doing it for many years.

I won't draw over open wounds or scratches, obviously, because that'd be dumb, but your skin is fairly tough and most inks now are reasonably non-toxic.

Thanks you!
I've been doing some more drawing, and I've been looking around on google, and as I kind of suspected, there is nothing that says drawing with regular ball point pens is toxic. It may cause irritation if you draw a LOT, but otherwise nothing.

What you have to watch out for is either sharpies, or drawing on open wounds (like you said!)

I prefer the Pilot precise rolling ball pens myself.  They're sharp though, so you can't press hard, but they have a liquid gel ink that I like.  They will run easily at water, however, and it's thin enough to flow into the fine lines of your hand, causing fine spiderwebbing as it bleeds.  But they do come in a range of basic colors.  Black/blue/red/green.

i found a pack of ball point pens in all colors. the orange isn't very effective but i was pretty successful in doing a colorful design across my leg. It's fading now, but it actually survives well in water, though can easily be removed if you rub it off.

I'll have to check out Pilot precise ball pens, though. They sounds like they would make a very dark mark.

They're quite nice.  But everything comes down to personal preference.

If you wanna use it, go ahead. I don't mind. I'll never tattoo it to myself. XD
